The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is a Silver bullion coin minted by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988.The obverse of the coin features a right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on a background of precision radial lines. Inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II,” year of mintage and face value.
A laser micro-engraved maple leaf is added to the coin’s reverse. Centered within it is the number “22,” denoting the coin’s year of issue and visible only under magnification and each micro-engraving is encoded, scanned and recorded at the mint for future authentication giving each Maple Leaf coin its uniqueness. This is known as the Bullion DNA program, one of the highest security programs on the market for any bullion coin.
